The Cock Inn was taken over by Crissie and Nancy late in January 2017 and was shut for a week. The pub is now run run by two landladies with the local community spirt being at the forefront of all ideas and events in the pub. We are dedicated to keeping the local pub spirit alive and want each and every customer to feel comfortable an almost like they have not even left home.
On opening, a new kitchen was installed and a new chef employed.
Tim Barter is an exceptionally talented young man. College trained he was recently Chef at another local pub but luckily for us we tempted him away. His passions are cooking from scratch. He uses no frozen ingredients at all and we only have a tiny freezer on site for ice cream etc.
He is Backed by another talented chef Andrea who's background was mainly in the Local Authority establishments. Again, she is also keen on the old fashioned idea that you cook all from fresh ingredients that are locally sourced. Her real passion lies in the deserts which she prepares and cooks form scratch with great car and pride. You must taste some of her creation and give us your feedback.
Crissie, on of the landladies, was until recently running a local transport company whilst her husband was unwell. Now he is recovered its her time to shine and with many years spent running the Five Bells in Chelsfield she has dedicated to making The Cock the best local place to spend ones spare time.
Nancy, like Crissie, has spent some years bringing up her young children and has now returned to what she does best. Keeping you entertained with her friendly spirit and smile it cheers all even on the dampest of days.
Both have there partners backing them up day to day, whilst they have no real involvement in the running they are the rocks behind them both so to speak.
If you visited in the past, please delete that from your memory and give us a try for a pint or that meal you have wanted for so long in a local pub.
